Goals & Aims

Our organizational goals are to keep youth safe from the threats and malevolence online. We take a variety of approached in doing this. Our cornerstone is our online safety and anti-hate workshop with students. This was designed with a purpose of keeping youth safe from hate and extremism online through improving online self-regulation, perspective taking, and problem solving. Additionally, we offer online safety specific lectures and programs that focus more heavily on online disinhibition and the many risks associated with this.

Our work with educators is focused on their curriculum and training. We work with educators to share research and lessons learned to help inform their internet safety curriculum. Additionally, we offer content building, such as readings, PowerPoints, and lessons for classroom use as well. Our goals and aims of this work are to inform existing educational efforts in classrooms with our findings, research, and practices in effort to increase educators’ confidence teaching these topics. Ultimately, by achieving these aims, we hope to improve youth online behaviors and decision-making.
